Strong Families Program
Arizona’s future prosperity depends on our ability to foster the health and well-being of the next generation. Recognizing that the first years of a child’s life have a profound effect on future learning, behavior and well-being, our Strong Families Program works to promote safe, stable, and nurturing homes and communities that help children develop the skills and the resilience they need to thrive as adults.
Our signature initiative, the Arizona Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) Consortium, is a vibrant grassroots coalition of hundreds of individuals and organizations, working to educate the community and state leaders on the impact and long-term effects of adverse childhood experiences. Unique in Arizona, the ACE Consortium is a pioneer in the national effort to address childhood adversity and promote resilience across the lifespan. Through multiple initiatives and work groups, we promote services and policies that help strengthen families, prevent abuse and neglect, assist caregivers struggling with adversity and promote positive parenting. By promoting ideas, policies and practices that minimize and prevent childhood adversity and build resilience in individuals, families and communities, we’re taking steps to ensure Arizona children have safe, stable, nurturing homes and communities.
