Physical Therapy - Sports Medicine

The goal of our team is to get you back to yours. Phoenix Children's Sports Medicine Physical Therapy offers state-of-the-art physical therapy centers close to where you live and play. We provide access to some of the top sports medicine physical therapists in the valley utilizing equipment previously only for professional athletes, but now accessible to your young athlete.

Getting Kids Back in the Game – the Healthy Way

In any sport, growing kids who experience an injury require care and treatment specific to their growing bodies! They play and heal differently, too. Phoenix Children’s offers the only sports physical therapy program in the valley designed specifically for young athletes. We specialize in treating kids eight and older.

Sports physical therapists (PTs) are an extension of Phoenix Children’s sports medicine team. We treat everything from muscle pain, torn ligaments and overuse injuries to fractures and traumatic injuries. Your child’s doctor (this does not have to be a Phoenix Children’s doctor) can make a referral for advanced therapy, rehab and return-to-play guidance. We help kids to get better – and stay better – in peak, injury-free form.

Places Near You

Four convenient locations offer flexible before- and after-school access. Kids can walk, run, pitch, swing and practice in innovative environments surrounded by other youth athletes.

Phoenix Children’s new Avondale location boasts nearly 8,000 square feet of space for competitive kids and teens. This includes a 5,000-square-foot gym space, a quarter basketball court, pitching/running lanes, open agility areas, cardio and strength training stations, and more.

Our “Home” and “Away” Game Plan

We support young athletes here at Phoenix Children’s and out in the community. Everyone wins through these and other services, programs and partnerships:

Bubba Watson and Ping Golf Motion Analysis Lab at Phoenix Children’s

Phoenix Children’s motion analysis lab at our Main Hospital location uses computer-assisted technology to see how your child moves. Experts watch and gather feedback in real time. Data on movement, force and muscle-activity helps our specialists to customize care plans, track progress and confirm when it’s safe to return to play. Our providers use motion analysis to treat ACL tendon injuries and other sports-related injuries.
