Water Safety Day
Learning water safety and practicing pool rules consistently is not just the job of parents and grandparents. Your older child is learning about safety rules for using the internet, going to the park, riding a bike - and needs to know about safety in the back yard pool area.
Phoenix Children’s is a leader in children's water safety education, bringing some of the most innovative programs in the country to our community. Our annual Water Safety Day is at the Valley of the Sun's official "Kickoff to Swimming Season."
The program is made possible by the longtime support of our Title Sponsor, Valley Toyota Dealers; our Presenting Sponsor, SRP Safety Connection; and our Build-A-Reminder Sponsor, La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries.
At this annual event, we bring more than 1,000 first grade students to a local community college to learn about water safety. Using our award-winning curriculum, “Water Safety is for YOU,” and the hands-on learning activities at the event, we have been able to produce consistent improvement in children's comprehension of key water safety concepts. Contact us if you'd like to review evaluation results from students who have participated in Water Safety Day and the "Water Safety is for YOU curriculum."
