Give-A-Thon for Phoenix Children’s Raises $1,178,529 in 19 Hours
News/Talk 92.3 KTAR and Arizona Sports 620 Set New Record
Phoenix, Ariz. (September 26, 2013)—Now in its 13th year, the annual radiothon benefiting Phoenix Children’s set a new all-time record. This is the 5th year News-Talk 92.3 KTAR and Arizona Sports 620 teamed up for Give-A-Thon and raised a record-breaking $1,178,529.This is the fourth consecutive record year for Give-A-Thon and the fourth year in a row that Bonneville Media’s two stations have exceeded $1 million in donations in just 19 hours. This year’s record total was particularly special since the event also celebrated Phoenix Children’s 30th birthday.
“I am truly amazed at these results and extremely grateful to Scott Sutherland and the Bonneville Media team,” said Steve Schnall, Senior Vice President, Phoenix Children’s Hospital. “Their passion and commitment to truly make a difference for our patient families is incredible and makes a tremendous impact on our hospital.”
On hand to host the two-day event were the stations’ popular on-air personalities: Mac & Gaydos, Jayme West, Burns & Gambo, Ned & Connie, Dan Beach, Paul Calvisi, Bruce St. James, Pamela Hughes, Kyndra de St. Aubin, Doug & Wolf, Karie Dozer, Dan Bickley & Vince Marotta and Rob Hunter.
Listeners had the opportunity to celebrate Phoenix Children’s 30th birthday by donating $30 a month to give a teddy bear in their name to a patient. This year’s Give-A-Thon was presented by Valley Hyundai Dealers.
