Spinal Fusion Surgery for scoliosis and spinal deformities is one of the highlights in orthopedic surgery at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Our spinal fusion program includes a pre-operative tour of the Hospital so that patients and families can ask questions and talk to other former patients, families and staff. This has been a major factor in improving pre-operative worry, post-operative care and overall recovery for kids.
Additionally, Phoenix Children’s orthopedic surgeons are members of the state’s only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Team, providing expert, life-saving care to children and teens who have experienced serious musculoskeletal injury.
As the Center for Pediatric Orthopedics grows, other programs being developed include treating children with spinal deformities, limb deficiencies, musculoskeletal tumors and skeletal dysplasia and a state-of-the-art motion analysis gait lab.
