About Bianca E. Roman, PNP

Bianca Roman, PNP, volunteered for many years with Ryan House, a facility that provides palliative, respite and hospice care to children navigating life-limiting or end-of-life journeys. The children she met inspired her to become a pediatric nurse.

Bianca Roman, PNP, volunteered for many years with Ryan House, a facility that provides palliative, respite and hospice care to children navigating life-limiting or end-of-life journeys. The children she met inspired her to become a pediatric nurse.

Several years later, while serving on a medical mission to Honduras, Bianca observed two nurse practitioners working with children in a rural village. That experience fueled her desire to pursue further education to become a pediatric nurse practitioner specializing in oncology.

"Interacting with the beautiful children at Ryan House inspired me to care for children with potentially life-limiting conditions," Bianca says. "I witnessed the excellent care provided by two nurse practitioners, and I knew I wanted to provide that higher level of care to children in need. I love meeting patients and their families and being a part of their journey with cancer. The strength and perseverance they display inspires me."

Taking an evidence-based approach to care, Bianca also strives to consider patients and their families' individual needs.

"I use a multidisciplinary approach and work with a multitude of specialties to provide the best care for my patients," she says.

A member of the Association of Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology Nurses, Bianca serves as vice president of the organization's Arizona chapter. She co-chairs the Advanced Practice Provider Committee for Service and Community Engagement. She also is membership chair of the Arizona chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.

Outside of work, Bianca enjoys hiking, jogging, camping, reading and riding horses.
