Emily Andrisevic, MD, is a general pediatric orthopedic surgeon specializing in clubfeet, gait analysis and neuromuscular orthopedics.
Dr. Andrisevic credits her father's encouragement for her career choice.
"When I was 5 years old, he gave me two boards, nails and a hammer. This allowed me to start working on the manual dexterity needed for this job. He was my role model to follow in medicine, and he specifically urged orthopedics as it is a worthy profession," she shares.
Dr. Andrisevic loves the constant change of pediatrics and the wide range of conditions she treats through orthopedics. She tries to treat her patients as if they were her own children. She imagines the visit from a parent's perspective and her young patients' perspective, too.
"Children exude joy. It makes this work so rewarding," Dr. Andrisevic says.

The state-of-the-art gait lab, where she can analyze how children walk, is what drew Dr. Andrisevic to Phoenix Children's. She also appreciates the opportunity to both care for patients as well as teach the next generation of doctors.
When she's not working, Dr. Andrisevic enjoys being Mom to her two children, wife and playing tennis.
