About Sophia N. Williams, MD

Watching family members face difficult illnesses inspired Sophia N. Williams, MD, to become a doctor. She wanted the opportunity to find medical solutions and provide compassionate healthcare.

As a pediatric pulmonologist, Dr. Williams offers children with respiratory conditions the most advanced approaches to diagnosis and treatment. She specializes in cystic fibrosis, mobile asthma care, pulmonary hypertension and bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD).

"Pulmonary care, to a certain extent, is very mechanical," says Dr. Williams. "It fosters my joy for problem-solving and exploring new things."

"I enjoy being on the journey to good health with the child and their family," she says. "I want them to enjoy life to their fullest potential. In delivering care, I strive to incorporate family values and conduct a very family-centered approach. Plus, children are fun and resilient, so they are a great population to work with."
