As a result of having attended this lecture, participants should be able to:

*     recognize how to order and hopefully get genetic testing authorized

*     discuss polygenic conditions with a family

*     define the issues with having one's genome analyzed

*     discuss the role of pediatricians outside of the pediatric age range

*     want to discover a gene
