Richard Towbin, MD, is an internationally renowned pediatric radiologist and Phoenix Children’s Division Chief of Radiology. During his 27 year career, Dr. Towbin has served at some of the country’s most renowned children’s hospitals, including Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Children’s Hospital of Michigan, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He is an expert in pediatric interventional radiology, is an avid researcher, has published over 200 papers, has patented four medical devices, and served as President and Chairman of the Board of the Society for Pediatric Radiology and Treasurer of the Society of Interventional Radiology. Dr. Towbin earned his medical degree at University of Cincinnati before completing residencies at Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, University of Cincinnati (Radiology), and Cincinnati Children’s (Pediatric Radiology). He also completed a Pediatric Radiology fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s. In addition to chairing the pediatric radiology departments at several leading children’s hospitals, Dr. Towbin has also held teaching and leadership positions in the medical schools at University of Cincinnati, Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Wayne State University, and University of Pittsburgh and is currently a Clinical Professor of Radiology at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine. Dr. Towbin is board certified in Pediatrics and Radiology.
