Developmental Pediatrics Rotation
Welcome to your Developmental Pediatrics rotation!!!
This rotation is different from many other rotations as you are based at Phoenix Children's but have many “field trips” to other locations in the community. Your role is often one of observer in many of the settings.
Through this rotation you should become familiar with typical and abnormal development in childhood, behavior management techniques, various aspects of developmental assessment, and referral sources/patterns in our community for children with developmental disabilities. Some of the experiences are to familiarize you with what happens after you refer a child for evaluation or services.
The rotation has a variety of modalities to meet accomplish these goals including lectures, site visits, direct patient care, learning modules, reading assignments, and a development-specific PowerPoint presentation.
Our rotation has gone completely digital and all information is available through this site. The rotation coordinator, Jennifer Farabaugh, will send you any additional information you need for the month.
The first day of your rotation will be spent completing independent study tasks, learning modules and readings. Information for these tasks can be found under the Orientation link to the left.
We hope that you enjoy your rotation and please let us know if there are any improvements you would like to see to this website!
