Type 1 Diabetes in Kids and Celebrities with Type 1 Diabetes

Just for Kids with Type 1 Diabetes

If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, you are not alone.

There are people of all ages and all walks of life that have type 1 diabetes. There are probably even other kids at your school who have diabetes.

No one likes having diabetes. But having type 1 diabetes doesn't change who you are. It doesn't mean you stop doing the things you like to do. And it doesn't change how your family, friends and classmates feel about you.

But diabetes will change your life in some ways. It means a lot of shots and finger pokes, and it also means having to be mindful about what you eat. In many ways, you'll have to be more responsible about the things you do so that you stay as healthy as you possibly can.

Celebrities with Type 1 Diabetes

Many famous kids and adults have type 1 diabetes, including:

  • Actress Halle Berry
  • American Idol contestant Elliot Yamin
  • Basketball player Adam Morrison
  • Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers
  • Olympic Gold Medal winner Gary Hall Jr.
