Frances H. McClelland Rehabilitation Program at Phoenix Children’s Hospital
The Frances H. McClelland Pediatric Rehabilitation Center at Phoenix Children's Hospital provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care so your child can maximize his or her abilities and independence.
You play a very important role in your child’s rehabilitation, so our team works closely with your family. Together we’ll customize a plan that may include physical, occupational, speech and/or feeding therapy, based on the unique needs of your child.
Why Pediatric Rehabilitation Therapy?
A child with a chronic condition, temporary impairment or an injury gets physical rehabilitation to relieve pain, improve strength, reduce the effects of impairments and improve overall function and participation in everyday activities.
Pediatric therapists use activities that kids typically enjoy and turn them into therapeutic interventions. Therapy often resembles play but is actually carefully planned therapy to achieve functional goals.
Why the Frances H. McClelland Pediatric Rehabilitation Center at Phoenix Children's Hospital?
This is the only pediatric rehabilitation program in Arizona just for children. For more than 15 years, our expert team has provided comprehensive, multidisciplinary care to allow children to achieve their optimal level of independence.
Comprehensive means that we have all the specialists and programs needed for your child. This included highly trained physician specialists nurses and therapists plus dedicated Child Life Specialists and Social Workers.
Multidisciplinary means that we all work together so the therapy plan is coordinated with any other care the child may receive.
Through our Electronic Health Record, we share progress and results with the child’s primary care physician and other Phoenix Children’s specialists on the team. This communication improves care and outcomes.
