Sample Block Schedules

As a fellow, you will be assigned to the learning and training of managing a clinical pediatric neurosurgery service.  With 1-2 ORs running most days and daily clinics, the fellow has ample opportunity to design a schedule that will prepare them for the management of patients in all aspects of patient care.

The fellow is part of the call pool, which is shared among inpatient APPs and rotating residents.  It is uncommon for patients to be admitted directly to the neurosurgery service, so when on call, you will mostly assist in seeing inpatient / ER brain and spine related consultations when not operating.  The structure of the program allows the fellow to focus on building the necessary surgical clinical skills while providing time to pursue research interests.
