Clinical Integration 101 - Did You Know?

Clinical integration is an FTC-recognized model of physician group contracting based upon the development of a robust quality improvement program with real accountability among otherwise independent physicians. It integrates and rewards physician members around a common commitment to quality measures based on scientific evidence.

The Clinically Integrated Network Phoenix Children’s Hospital is exploring represents a partnership among community physicians, Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Phoenix Children’s Medical Group focused on the delivery of high-quality, coordinated, cost-effective pediatric care.

The network would position participating physicians for success in the value-based contracting environment, facilitate improved communication between and among participants, and utilize evidence-based clinical care guidelines developed by physicians. Participating providers and hospitals realize financial incentives for the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective care.

Attend one of these upcoming presentations hosted by Dignity Health to learn more about clinical integration:

Hospital’s Pediatric Rheumatologists Holding Clinic at Specialty and Urgent Care - East Valley Center

Phoenix Children’s pediatric rheumatologists have begun offering clinical hours at the Hospital’s Specialty and Urgent Care - East Valley Center on Tuesdays.

To refer a patient, please call (602) 933-0909 and ask the scheduler to schedule your patient at the Hospital’s East Valley Specialty Care Center. Phoenix Children’s operates Arizona’s only dedicated pediatric rheumatology program providing family-centered, multidisciplinary care to children living with rheumatic disease.

Michael Shishov, MD, MPH, a board-certified pediatric rheumatologist, leads the team. Two other pediatric rheumatologists, Kaleo Ede, MD, and Andrea Ramirez, MD, MEd, joined the division in 2008 and 2010 respectively.

Hospital Establishes Pediatric Gynecology Program

Phoenix Children's Hospital recently launched a Pediatric Gynecology Program, the first of its kind in the southwest region. It provides females from birth to age 18 with high quality medical care ranging from surgical procedures to routine exams and testing. Staffed by a multidisciplinary team of pediatric experts, the program focuses on the consultation, examination, diagnosis, and treatment of female reproductive health issues, as well as reproductive anomalies in children and adolescents.

Pediatric Gynecologist Amy Williamson, MD, is the new Surgical Staff Section Chief of the Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Department. As one of only a few Arizona gynecologists focusing in pediatrics, Williamson is acutely aware of the need to provide gynecological care in a non-threatening environment, exclusively for children.

For more information on the clinic or to schedule an appointment, call (602) 933-2728.
