As you know, the health care industry is undergoing tremendous change. The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA or Obamacare) is approaching wide-scale implementation and, as a result, physicians are uncertain what impact this new health care law will have on clinical care and payor contracting.
Physician-hospital alignment models are also under scrutiny, with many hospital systems aggressively pursuing an employment model and growing into geographic areas very close to private practices throughout our communities. Those actions are forcing pediatricians to closely consider existing relationships with hospitals and hospital systems.
It’s for these reasons a growing number of pediatricians in the community have been working to create a pathway allowing them to remain competitive in the evolving value-based contracting environment, improve outcomes, lower health care costs, and protect their independence. That is why they created Phoenix Children’s Care Network (PCCN), Arizona’s very first physician-led, pediatric-dedicated clinically integrated organization.
Phoenix Children's Care Network is a quality-driven, pediatric-focused clinically integrated organization that positions its members favorably in the growing value-based contracting environment. We’re well on our way to meeting that goal and have begun identifying a means to develop and, ultimately, capture patient data and quality measures, by which PCCN’s success in the value-based contracting environment will be measured.
PCCN is working in earnest to grow membership. Close to 100 community physicians and private specialty practice doctors across the state have already joined. Added to Phoenix Children’s Medical Group’s 220 employed physicians, PCCN’s membership already exceeds 300. Are you interested in membership? Contact us today.
