Spina Bifida

Medical Conditions

Children with spina bifida are born with their spinal nerves ending in an outside sack at the lower end of the spine. When the nerves are damaged by this, the child does not have movement, feeling, or control over the parts of the body those nerves serve.

Topics under spina bifida include:

  • bowel and bladder management in spina bifida
  • cervical meningocele
  • fetal surgery for spina bifida
  • foot deformity
  • myelomeningocele or meningomyelocele
  • tibial torsion
