Tumor board is a way for practitioners to discuss the care of each patient with a new neuro oncologic diagnosis.  Via this teaching opportunity, each oncologist can learn about the best current available treatment for all the new cases that we see.  Our Neuro Oncology Division manages a diverse mix of blood tumors, solid tumors and brain tumors and unless we pool knowledge, it is difficult to remain up to date for the best diagnosis and treatment options.  When there are gaps in care, we use tumor board to discuss what happened and what can be done to address and avoid those gaps in the future.
