Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship

Fellowship Programs

The objective of our Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship training program is to cultivate pediatric nephrologists who excel in the specialized domain of nephrology, offering comprehensive services that address both general and specialized aspects of nephrological care for children and adolescents. Our three-year fellowship program delivers extensive inpatient and outpatient clinical training in pediatric and adult nephrological disorders, such as acute and chronic kidney disease, hypertension, nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, and kidney transplantation.

Managing kidney disease can be complex, necessitating ongoing medical care that might span months or even years. Recognizing the importance of providing continuous care for children with kidney disease, our program and the Phoenix Children's Hospital Nephrology Department often begin care with prenatal diagnosis and continue through adolescence. Our pediatric nephrologists are committed to fostering long-term relationships with patients and their families, resulting in individualized and comprehensive care. Fellows will gain insight into the distinct aspects of treating pediatric nephrology patients, including psychosocial factors such as school performance and family dynamics.

Our fellowship graduates will predominantly serve underserved communities in the Southwest, providing care to children from diverse ethnicities and social backgrounds for years to come. As the sole Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship in Arizona, our program will positively impact not only the fellows but also the community.
