Pediatric Surgery Fellowship

Fellowship Programs

The Pediatric Surgery Fellowship is a robust training program for individuals interested in pursuing a career in Pediatric Surgery. The fellowship is supported by the graduate medical education infrastructure at both Mayo Clinic in Arizona (program sponsor) and Phoenix Children's Hospital (clinical site).

Phoenix Children’s and the Mayo Clinic in Arizona are committed to the medical education of pediatric surgeons, providing an environment of academic enrichment, research, and a comprehensive educational experience for clinical pediatric surgery fellowship training. Full-time pediatric surgeons serve as faculty with a diverse background including advanced MIS, trauma/critical care, oncology, and neonatal surgery. In addition, the fellowship and faculty actively participate in research within the institution as well as serving as the primary investigator in multi-institutional research projects. Fellows finishing the program will be competitive for any potential employment opportunities that they pursue.

Mayo Clinic serves as the sponsoring institution for more than 300 residency and fellowship programs. Trainees from these programs rotate to Phoenix Children's for elective and required pediatric experiences. Mayo Clinic in Arizona and Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education provide the administrative infrastructure and GMEC oversight to ensure high-quality graduate medical education.
