Pediatrician Michael Stamps, MD, grew up in Phoenix during the years that it transformed from a small town into one of the largest cities in the U.S. He graduated with honors from the University of Arizona and earned his medical degree at Texas Tech University.
A love for kids and the joy of watching them grow from newborns to adults is what drew him to pediatrics. His roots at Phoenix Children's go back many years. He was a resident with the Phoenix Hospitals Affiliated Pediatric Program back when Phoenix Children's first became a reality. Dr. Stamps and his wife, who also a physician, have three grown sons. Outside the hospital, Dr. Stamps loves playing golf - especially with his boys, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. He also enjoys fly fishing and tennis.
