Pediatric Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship

Fellowship Programs

The mission of our Pediatric Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship Program is to produce the next generation of pediatric clinical neurophysiologists. Our ACGME-accredited, 1-year clinical fellowship provides training in electroencephalography (EEG), nerve conduction studies and electromyography (EMG), video-EEG monitoring, ICU monitoring, intraoperative monitoring (IOM), polysomnography, advanced epilepsy medical and surgical management. Our graduates have the foundational skills for future expertise in clinical neurophysiology and are equipped with the necessary tools for continuing learning and leadership in our rapidly moving field.

We have an active clinical epilepsy program with a core faculty of seven full-time pediatric epileptologists. Our 8-bed Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (PEMU) admits 560 patients per year for diagnostic video-EEG monitoring or pre-surgical evaluation and we have a busy EEG laboratory with 2700 routine EEG studies per year and over 1400 nights of ICU 24-hour video-EEG monitoring. Our Program is certified as a Level 4 Epilepsy Center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) and offers therapies, including the ketogenic diet, vagal nerve stimulation and investigational drug trials. We have a comprehensive epilepsy surgery program, including capabilities for intracranial monitoring and mapping, stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG), conventional cortical resection, stereotactic thermoablation, and advanced neuromodulation techniques including responsive neurostimulation. We work within a multidisciplinary team with neurology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology, neuropsychology and our research partners.
