Pediatric Interventional Radiology (IR) Fellowship

Fellowship Programs

The Interventional Radiology Department at Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH) offers a one year Pediatric Interventional Radiology Fellowship. There are positions for one fellow each academic year. We accept applications from J-1 visa holders.

Phoenix Children’s Hospital section of Pediatric Interventional Radiology is committed to providing the highest level of care to our patients and their families, as well as promoting and strengthening the future of our specialty. As the only pediatric interventional radiology program in the Southwest, we provide state-of-the art, minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for children of all ages, including newborns, as well as adults with congenital issues. To fulfill our mission, we have a pediatric interventional radiology fellowship supported by a team of pediatric interventional radiologists, as well as dedicated IR technologists and nurses.

We perform a large variety of vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures, more than 3,000 annually, including but not limited to vascular access, sclerotherapy of vascular malformations, angiography, vascular embolization, biliary procedures, resection/RFA of osteoid osteomas, arthrocentesis/arthrograms, biopsies, drainages and feeding-related procedures. Additionally, we have an active pediatric neurointerventional program, led by a dedicated pediatric neurointerventionalist. Beyond the clinical practice, fellows and attendings participate in monthly multidisciplinary conferences, including the only vascular anomalies clinic in the Southwest, and there are also weekly didactic and case conferences focused on interventional radiology. Furthermore, there are research opportunities at Phoenix Children’s, with dedicated research assistants.

After completing a pediatric interventional radiology fellowship at Phoenix Children's, you will be well versed in minimally invasive procedures in the pediatric population and will be prepared to practice at the highest level in whichever setting you choose.
