- As Arizonans continue to abide by COVID 19 social distancing restrictions, drowning risk for Arizona’s children is expected to rise. Toddlers in Arizona are already drowning at double the national rate. Economic hardship is also increasing caregiver stress, childcare options are severely limited, and families are confined to apartments and single-family homes, where drowning risk is highest.
- Phoenix Children’s has just learned that a physician at one of our ambulatory clinics has tested positive for COVID-19. Phoenix-area partnership creates Arizona’s only Tourette Association of America Center of Excellence
- The Phoenix Tourette Syndrome, a unique partnership between Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Banner Sun Health Research Institute, has been verified as a Center of Excellence by the Tourette Association of America, an institution that aims to advance research and advocacy for Tourette Syndrome and other tic disorders.
- Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Mesa Pediatrics Professional Association (“Mesa Pediatrics”) are thrilled to announce Mesa Pediatrics and its four locations across the Phoenix East Valley joined Phoenix Children’s Pediatrics. The collaboration brings together providers from two of Arizona’s original pediatric institutions. Mesa Pediatrics was the first pediatric practice established in the East Valley with a board certified pediatrician, and Phoenix Children’s is the first and only standalone children’s hospital in Arizona.
- Phoenix Children’s is pleased to announce Jared Muenzer, MD, MBA, has been promoted to serve the organization as Physician-in-Chief.
- Phoenix Children’s Center for Family Health and Safety has been awarded a grant by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS). The funds, which total more than $36,000, will support the distribution of car seats, booster seats, helmets, and education for parents on protection from motor vehicle crash-related injuries.
