Meet the Comprehensive Sleep Program Team at Phoenix Children's Hospital

The clinic’s multidisciplinary team is composed of two sleep medicine physicians, a nurse, neurologists, respiratory therapists, and psychologists - all specifically trained to manage and treat sleep disorders in pediatric patients.

Rupali Drewek, MD

Dr. Rupali Drewek

Dr. Rupali Drewek founded the program in 2009 and remains director of the Polysomnogram Laboratory. She is the only pediatric pulmonolgist in Arizona triple board-certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Drewek serves as Co-Director of the Comprehensive Sleep Program.

Matthew Troester, DO

Dr. Matthew Troester

Dr. Troester joined Dr. Drewek in 2011 after a merger of services between Phoenix Children's and Barrow Neurological Institute. Dr. Troester is also uniquely qualified as the only pediatric neurologist in Arizona fellowship trained and quadruple board-certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, Sleep Medicine, and Epilepsy. He serves as Co-Director of the Comprehensive Sleep Medicine Program with Dr. Drewek.

Michelle Martinez, RN, BSN - Sleep Medicine Coordinator

Michelle Martinez, Sleep Medicine Coordinator

Michelle Martinez is the Nurse Coordinator for the Sleep Medicine Program. Michelle coordinates multidisciplinary care for sleep patients with ENT physicians, psychology, psychiatry and various sleep labs. She also educates families in clinic regarding sleep studies, potential medications used for sleep disorders and coordinates CPAP/BIPAP initiation. She is available in clinic to see patients, provide education and work closely with families to ensure they have the resources needed to provide adequate care at home for sleep-related issues.
