James F. Serot, MD, is a pediatric anesthesiologist at Phoenix Children's. Dr. Serot provides a wide range of safe and effective anesthesia services for pediatric patients during medical and surgical procedures, as well as specialized care for pain management and infection control after surgery.

Dr. Serot was drawn to Phoenix Children's because of the high level of care provided to every patient, and he is continually inspired by the dedicated group of physicians that work there.

After completing his undergraduate education at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, Dr. Serot earned his medical degree from Loyola University of Chicago. He finished his internship and residency training in anesthesia at Northwestern University in Chicago and completed his fellowship training in pediatric anesthesia at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Dr. Serot is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both general and pediatric anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiology and the Society of Pediatric Anesthesiology.

Throughout his career in medicine, Dr. Serot has been active in the education and training of medical students and new physicians. In addition, he has advised on the development and implementation of surgical protocols to improve patient care and outcomes.

Originally from the Midwest, Dr. Serot comes from a family of healthcare providers who showed him how rewarding a career in medicine can be. He considers it a true privilege to help others when they need it most and strives to treat each patient as if they were a member of his own family.

When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Serot enjoys exploring the Phoenix area, spending time with his three children and enjoying the sunshine.
