Your Visit

Tours are currently on hold due to COVID-19 precautions. Please check back for updates in the future. For information on how to best prepare your child for an upcoming procedure, please click here.

POP tours help patients and families to learn more about the hospital setting and surgery process. The POP tour includes walking around to the different areas including the admitting office, waiting areas, pre-operative area, playroom, and an inpatient room upon request. It will also offer an opportunity for your child to learn more about the pre-operative experience through a presentation of pictures to help them better understand what they can expect through a step by step process. They will be given time during the presentation to play  with and explore some of the safe medical supplies they will encounter such as a stethoscope and anesthesia mask so that they feel more comfortable with them on the day of their surgery. If you would like to schedule a POP tour, please contact the surgery Child Life Specialists at 602-933-1540 or pchpoptours@phoenixchildrens.com to reserve your place.

A Child Life Specialist will take you on a child friendly tour of the Pre-Op area and assist you and your family in learning about what to expect on the day of surgery. The tours are offered from 12:30-1:30pm on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month for patients having procedures in Pre-Op Main and on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month for patients having procedures in Pre-Op East.
