After earning a medical degree at the University of Aleppo in Aleppo, Syria, Dr. Merjaneh completed a pediatric residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville, Florida. She went on to complete fellowships in pediatric hematology and oncology and precision cancer therapeutics at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in Cincinnati. Dr. Merjaneh is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Hematology, the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, the Hematology/Oncology section of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Cancer Institute and the Syrian American Medical Society.
Knowing the importance of research to improving the lives of children with cancer, Dr. Merjaneh is dedicated to finding ways to advance treatments for solid tumors. She was among researchers funded to conduct high-risk, high-reward research through a "New Ideas Award" by CancerFree Kids. Dr. Merjaneh has published in professional publications and presented at professional conferences and meetings.
Dr. Merjaneh's research supports her belief that every patient is unique and deserves targeted treatment personalized for the genetics of their tumor.
When she is not working, Dr. Merjaneh loves traveling with her husband and visiting new cities. They enjoy exploring new cultures and trying new foods.
