Plastic Surgery

Our surgeons work with specialists throughout Phoenix Children’s to treat patients with conditions that benefit from plastic and reconstructive surgery. We make it a priority to provide individualized care to improve the function and appearance for pediatric patients with these conditions.

For patients with craniofacial anomalies, we enlist a full team of specialists. This ensures any issues that may arise during surgery are expertly managed. This team includes:

Chest Wall Center

Innovative Care to Improve Outcomes, Keep Kids Comfortable

At Phoenix Children’s, we want kids to be kids: We want them to be able to play, run, participate in sports and activities, and enjoy all life has to offer. If your child has a chest wall abnormality, like pectus excavatum, they may not be able to take part in these simple pleasures.

Pathology & Laboratory Medicine

We’re board-certified pathologists with more than 120 years of combined experience. We offer services for all surgical pathology needs, collaborating on difficult cases until the correct diagnosis is reached. We’re patient-centered. With every test and every diagnosis, our goal is to make sure patients receive the right treatments.

Training the leaders of tomorrow

Members of the Pathology Department hold faculty appointments at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, teaching medical students and residents in pediatrics and pathology.

Palliative Care

Palliative Care

Palliative care helps people cope with serious, life-threatening and life-limiting conditions. At Phoenix Children’s Hospital, your child’s palliative care team will work with you to coordinate care and advocate for your family.

Pain Medicine

Inpatient and Outpatient Settings

Inpatient services include intensive, individualized pain management for kids who are patients at Phoenix Children’s. Outpatient services include initial and follow-up care at four convenient locations: Phoenix Children’s Thomas campus, Scottsdale, Southwest (Avondale) and Gilbert, plus interventional procedures at the Thomas campus in Phoenix.

Ophthalmology

A coordinated approach to care

Many eye conditions are linked to other medical problems. Our ophthalmology team works side-by-side with experts across Phoenix Children’s to ensure your child receives the best, most coordinated care.

Help when you need it

You can’t predict when your child may need medical attention. And when it comes to emergency eye care, you shouldn’t have to wait. Phoenix Children’s pediatric ophthalmologists are available around-the-clock to treat eye-related emergencies.

Neurotrauma Program

The Neurotrauma Program Team

Our emergency room nurses and physicians specialize in spine and brain injuries in children. The equipment is designed for children — not for adults — so patients have everything they need at the ready. And since Phoenix Children’s relies on cutting-edge research, patients get the most up-to-date treatments.

Neurosurgery

You can rest easy knowing your loved one is in capable, confident, caring hands. We take the time to walk you through every step of the process, from answering questions to explaining the details.

Team effort

We believe in giving each patient the full range of our expertise. Our specialized team of neurosurgeons often collaborate with physicians and surgeons from other departments at the hospital, ensuring every patient gets the full range of treatment they need.
